Comex madness part 3

One of the best pieces i found yet! I sooooo cooooool!
1978 Mickey Comic!

5513 Comex.. for me the best

Well i guess it's no surprise anymore. First of all i am a non-date plexi guy. But even more... with Comex the 5513 with valve is the one to get for me. Much lesser numbers then the 5514. And this one is also a medium numbers... with matte logo dial. As Marcello last told me... about only about 20-30 left in this configuration. And in this condition ?????
Late 1972 delivery. And the only 5513's with valve. Which makes them kind of prototypes for me.

Just a fantastic find... 6542 Albino !!!!

Wooooaaaawwww ... just wooooaaawwww. Stefano made a post on his blog about the 6542 Albino. Of course there are still questions.. and lot to learn. And of course questions will be asked,.. issues pointed.... but for me personally. The match is sooo big. If it's aint the real deal we are all in deep shit! The legend is alive...

Stefano's blog > there is the whole story!

The images are from Stefan't blog. And i put 2 layers on top of eachother to show the match in typography. The word SWISS looks different then on most GMT's. But the same as some of them (red GMT-MASTER) and red bigcrown of the mid 50th.

Exciting!!!

Another one so cooool! Love them.

Trip to London... ohhhhh nooo

Ohhhhh nooooo can you believe it. I visited London last weekend. And met with some great friends at Home House Club in the evening... collectors... and forgot my camera in the hotel... ohhhhh no! So i am so sorry... i can't show you the beauty of the Daytona,... the coooool red colour of that 5510 gilt dial, the crazy beauty of that Jean Claude Killy,... the shear rareness and history of the Iranian Milsub, .. the pure sex of that 5513 Comex,.... and much more. So sorry! But i can share a bit of the trip. A all relaxed easy dinner at Home House. A member club which made quite a impression on me. Because of it all relaxed atmosphere and fantastic interior. With all the old elements, new design and very relaxed people! All my favorite combination. Here are some images of the club from the website...

And the next day i combined the trip to visit watch-friends to visit again a area of London i have now visited 4 times in the last 6 years... and have seen it change from a rough and highly creative surrounding to a hip and more mainstream creative surrounding. The edge is gone. The coolness of the people of the beginning has gone a bit for more tourist and business people to walk in. But still one of the places with a lot of energy and cool shops and initiatives. I understood the new place to be is Hackney now... so i hope to visit that area soon. Some impressions from Shoreditch... and Spitafield Market area.

Rolex and style.. LV bag

Well i am not a guy who likes logo's on the outside of my cloth. I rather prefer fine material, great design,.. but don't want to walk around as an advertisement -board. But this series of LV makes me break the rules. I love the black-grey understatement look. Also it's a complete overkill of branding.... i love it. And can't help myself. And this bag has some vintage style to me. Perfect with vintage Rolex! ANd funny... people often ask me if i am going to the supermarket LOOOOL!

The community is great!!!

Philipp and i had a sudden idea.. after someone asked if he could buy a PASSION meeting t-shirt. They are not for sale, as they are only in the goddie-bag for the friends at the meeting. But it was a start of... why don't sell the onces we had left for a good course. And sell them to help people in Haiti. And we asked our VRF friends to start bid bid on them And only 24 hours later... most have been sold. Only a view left and more then 850 euro already collected! Wooaaaawwwwww!
What a great community! So now.... we have to find the right organisation to send the money (hoping for more then 1100 euro) to. Maybe you have a suggestion. We want to get close to helping the individual people as possible!

Talking about heritage... PANAM

Yes PANAM is also a part of Rolex. And played a big role in the history of the GMT. I am not a pilot, so i can't comment on the importance of such a watch in the 50th and 60/70th. But for sure the combination of red and blue,... pilots in uniforms and stewardesses giving that extra smile shaped a era. And shaped a image. Also the days of new worlds to explore. In times when you did not just hop on EasyJet to do some shopping in Milan.. or a weekend NewYork. In an era after the big wars when people started to live an new life and widen their horizon. When flying became reality for more and more people. And pilots where still kind of adventurers. I only had the negative privilege to fly with PANAM once... end of the 80'ies. And it was an disaster! Overboeked flight from Miami to NewYork. Missed our flight then to Europe and the only thing we received was a big moth and bad service. Even with business-class tickets. So i guess maybe the downfall of PANAM has a reason... but sure it was an icon of an era. And the identity is still strong. Who does not know the building... logo..
