Which do you like better - the black dial or the grey? I tend to like the grey from what I see in the photos. They are both pretty awesome.

Is a great watch but the leather strap is killing me, It is fantastic but I live in the South of Mexico and the extreme heat takes all the joy of wearing leather, not to mention sweat etc. So I was wondering if the Heritage Strap will fit the Grantour, it is 22mm. It would make a the Grantour a wonderful summer watch. THANK YOU

There is probably something wrong with me, I didn't care about watches, until my father gave me a vintage Rolex TT submariner Nipple dial, last year in really bad shape. So far I have 5 vintage Rolex watches, 4 that I have send to the RSC. for complete overhauls and restorations. The TT submariner, red Sub, TT Datejust, and an Oysterquartz. I have also Bought a New Tudor Grantour. Im still saving for a RSC restoration of a Vintage white 1680 Submariner, that is may daily watch. But if the Chrono Heritage gets here first I guess my sub will have to wait to make the trip. This is an expensive VICE.. Just the Oysterquartz restoration was 1750usd. It was a gift in terrible shape and I didn't have the heart to let it die forever. BUT IM IN EXTREME LOVE, LUST, WITH THE HERITAGE, IS IT WORTH IT. PLEASE WRITE A COMPLETE REVIEW. THANK YOU.

Bernhard, you are doing a great job here. I love the multi-colored strap of the Tudor watch. Hey, Tudor has been inspired by Rolex right? I have read it somewhere over the net that it was Rolex who serves as their inspiration to come up with a watch company which they later named Tudor watches.
ReplyDeleteIt is important to note that Tudor company has been inspired to produce watched from Rolex which is i think the latter has been successful in their own.
ReplyDeletedear sirs as I mentioned before I have a TT Submariner nipple dial, RSC serviced in Mexico City 2008. However I cant find the reference number or examples of such anywhere on the internet. I dont have the RSC papers with me, but I think it stated 1680. Its plexiglass. If you can help, I thank you in advance. I also have a 1680 and 16800 in the RSC right now. The first one a plexi matte. Second One wg glossy dial. On both the and dial and hands are in really bad shape, however RSC gives me the option of keeping them or exchanging them for service dials and hands. Please advise me on what to do. They want 900usd each to fix them. Also I Have a very damaged Oysterquartz Mark1. They want 1750usd for a complete overhaul. THANK YOU. FROY. MEXICO.
ReplyDeleteWELL THEY TOLD ME, ON THE 16800 ITS THEIR WAY OR THE HIGHWAY. THE HANDS, I AGREE WERE TOTALLY RUSTED AND FALLING APART AND THE DIAL IS IN BAD SHAPE. MOISTURE. SO I SAY OK. SERVICE DIAL, HANDS AND BEZEL INSERT. I ONLY HAVE AN RSC IN THE WHOLE COUNTRY SO.. THE OYSTERQUARTZ OVERHAUL IS VERY EXPENSIVE 1750 USD. BUT NOBODY ELSE CAN RESURRECT IT. OTHERWISE ITS A PAPERWEIGHT. Well it all depends on the condition. Normally we always say... keep the Tritium dials and hands in the watch. Don't let Rolex change anything!!!!
ReplyDeleteBut when they are damaged so bad... that they really look ugly big times... it is sometimes better to change them... and have a good working watch again.
But if so you should search on vintagerolexform.com for a nice tritium dial and handset. It costs money.. but for a nice 1680 it's s nice.
Finding a nice WG-dial for the 16800 should be not a big problem.
But as said i can't judge on the condition of the dial/hands which are now in the watches.
I have no idea on Oysterquarz watches... sorry.
By the way... you could also find a real good watchmaker (which knows Rolex watches) to help you... intead of the Rolex RSC.

ReplyDeleteThank you so much for your reply. These watches are so damaged because they were inside a safe, that was flooded during the 2007 Tabasco floods in Mexico. A similar New Orleans catastrofic flooding. Pardon my bad english. One, the TT sub, was mine the others belonged to my father. The safe was under water and mud for almost a month. After that my father didnt want to pay to fix them so he gave them to me. There are others a Cellini a couple of tudors etc.
So far I have sent to our ONLY RSC. 2 The TT sub and a TT Datejust.
I have saved enough this year to send to the RSC 3 More. the 1680, the 16800 and the oysterquartz. The Oysterquartz damage was catastrophic because it was stored with the crown open. so water got in everywhere,and my father gave me the watch many months later.
I have bowed to save this collection. The problem is that were I live, Tabasco, there is only one AD. and in the country only one RSC.
And there are no parts at least good ones to be found anywhere. We have excellent Watch repair men, but no original parts anywhere. So sooner or later its the RSC.
On the oysterquartz I have to agree with them as they are the only ones with the parts to fix it.
On the others 1680 and 16800 I dont know yet if I agree with them.
On the prices. Is it really that expensive now or are they charging to much. Submariner services are 400usd plus parts.

Its really 400 usd plus parts, More like 950uds for each one. Plus the Oysterquartz. another 1750usd. Total tab comes close to 3750usd. There goes the HERITAGE CHRONO!!! JAJA Well such is life.. Sir what are your thoughts on Submariners on rubber bands? I saw a breitling diver pro2 that looks very promising.

They are not that HOT yet i guess.
