Lately this killer beauty passed by. With such a killer dial. Just amazing. Normally i am not to much into gilt GMT as i don't like the deep yellow/gold print with pepsi. But this one had the silverfish/gold fresh print. Just popped into you eyes. Enjoy the images...
Found another great Maxi dial GMT
Last Sunday i was at the Düsseldorf watchfair in Germany. Uhhhh only minor quality. But this one called me. As it was sitting on the wrist of an old dealer couple. He did not wanted to sell. Took 10 minutes and a lot of charme to talk him out of it...

Another one for sale. This time a nice and cool looking 1675 GMT. Pure lifestyle. WATCH IS SOLD. BUT MORE WILL FOLLOW anD I AM ALWAYS LOOKING FOR NICE WATCHES!
A rare bird
Here is a real rare bird. A UAE GMT.... with provenance.
Which is a real great find. Thanks for all the help my friends!
Pepsi....

I picked up an old love of mine. 20 years ago i played for about 1 year. But quit then.. always felt sorry about it.
So i picked up on it again. Now with a private teacher. To do it right and keep rocking this time.
But what makes it also so great. I see so much of the same passion in both world.
Both find their design in the 50th.. and still hold their magic till today.
More brown ... more sun!

I got lucky this week. A fantastic 1675 tropical dial GMT. A 1967 watch with the typical shape of the crown-guards. The case has seen some polish but still very nice. But the dial is such a nice brown. Changing colour from deep dark brown to a real great warm chocolate. Changing the angle is magical.
The way forward

Well after a hell of a trip/detour... i received a package today. Way late... but that is a different story. Let's say it like this. There was someone really surprised at a different place in Europe ;-))) thanks to Fedex LOOL!
But here it is. And what makes it so important to me? Not only that it is a coool watch. With a killer dial and real fat indexes. Maxi style, as it comes from the same time as the 5513 Maxi dials. Not only it comes with papers, original receipt from the shop of Geneva airport and service papers. No it came from the original owner.
The last weeks i had strong discussions and thoughts about the vintage Rolex world,... and the direction it will take for me. With more and more technical development, micro welding, re-lacquering, put together, toasted, re-lume...
And what i feel is, that provenance and first owner watches, fresh to our world are the way forward to me. Trying to find these packages. Not only because of the quality and beauty! The fact that the watch is pure... as it comes and honest. Is it new knowledge? No of course not. As great friends and kind of hero's for me in this world do this for a long time now. Finding first owner watches. But i think it will get more and more important. And i think it is time to have good discussions on 'restoration' of watches. What do we think as OK and what NOT. Where do we draw a line.... and how does it reflect on price? Happy to hear your thoughts.....
The GMT has landed

Well guys you know i posted some WTB for a perfect 1675..... and i am almost there!!!! Fedex was nice to me this week. And it send me a beautiful GMT 1675 from '67.... not in it's final stage... but the route is the goal, if you know what i mean. When i posed my WTB i had so many nice mails... not only from sellers... but even more from great people trying to help. What a great feeling is that... community in it's best shape. Helping each other from sharing the same kind of passion. Not from gaining... but sharing! One of the nicest things!!!!!! Thanks to all. And here it is....
Perfect case to me... i love those lugs!!!!
The dial will be replaced for a nice MK1 matte dial. The hands are surposed to be original to this transitional era.
And it came with papers and chrono-certificate.... both punched. So i hope to the watch will be in 'my' dream-state before X-Mas... as she was my X-mas gift.
And the greatest gift in that.... the people we meet on that way. And a very special lady knows what i mean!!!!!
A good friend borrowed his black inlay for a couple of day's.... so know i need a black fat font inlay.... maybe even faded.... so if you have one... make my day.
Special GMT 1675 UAE

A very special 1675 from a friend. Original UAE GMT (United Arab Emirates). These watches where produced from 1971 till 1979 by Rolex. And delivered for the U.A.E Helicopter Pilots. The dial was specially made, with an Eagle which is the logo of the U.A.E.
A very special GMT Military watch. Like the " Fuerza del Peru" they are also seen with complete blue bezel. A real rare bird indeed. As most we see are also with fake dials.
